However, a word of caution is that swimming in the sea on La Gomera can be dangerous, especially during the winter. The island can be windy with large waves and powerful currents, especially during high tide.

2. Stones – The beach is mainly rock and stone and very difficult to walk on with bare feet, so take suitable shoes for the water if you plan on going in the sea.

Access To Playa Del Cabrito La Gomera

The only way to get to Playa del Cabriot is by boat or a hiking trail. The shortest trail routes are from San Sebastian and the village of Ayamosna. Both are approximately 6-7 km each way, but we recommend the San Sebastian route for two reasons.

Firstly, the San Sebastian trail is a cliff-top hike with beautiful sea views. And secondly, Ayamosna is around 700 metres above sea level, which makes for a very strenuous return hike.

We highly recommend visiting this beach via the coastal hike if you have the time. However, if the distance to too much, consider taking the same walk as far as Playa de la Guancho, which lies just north of Playa del Cabrito.

In either case, you will also be rewarded with stunning views of San Sebastian and the beaches from the cliff tops.

Amenities At Playa Del Cabrito La Gomera

You shouldn’t rely on there being any amenities at Playa Del Cabrito La Gomera. There is a hotel here (Hotel Finca El Cabrito) which has a restaurant/cafe.

However, most amenities here are reserved for guests, so ensure you have enough food and drink for your trip. If you are arriving by boat, there is a small jetty for landing.
